He got blown off the mound two games ago against the Cubs. Carnage was swift in 2 1/3 innings for the tune of seven runs. Mike recovered nicely in the key Mariners game shutting them out over the course of six innings. So his last three starts stats are really skewed. His ERA is higher from last year as he approaches the same amount of innings. On a good note, his run support has been upped to reflect a winning win-loss record for 2016. On the other side, he faces Nolasco who has a sub one WHIP but ERA in the mid threes for his last three games. Plowhorse Ricky Nolasco is effective as a plow horse. With the exception of last season, he gets his team near 200 innings per year. Mid four ERAs are pretty standard for him. He consumes innings and is a decent 3rd or 4th starter to defray wear on the better arms. The 8 1/2 total for the game is more about if the Angels can hit Houston. The Astros will get runs off of this starter but probably will not blow him out. Houston’s recent 5-8 stretch came against premier teams. Now they can revel in having that in their rear view mirror. Against the Angels and Mariners is where they make the money. 21-7 against these two. That cinches it. ML in parlays but not straight wager for the Astros. Second is the over 55 points in this one. Eskimos will control tempo more than usual and they love to sling it. Wide receivers seemed to have cured their penchant for dropping passes in the first two games. This should be taken with a grain of salt however because Clemson’s last opponent was of the FCS variety. While this is the cosmetic fix, their is a fault with this Tigers team that will bite them in 2016. Too many of their defensive players graduated and headed to the NFL last year. Foundation players like Corey Crawford, Vic Beasley, Shaq Lawson, and Kevin Dodd is going to take the starch out of them in clutch times. Now this is not to diminish the value and progress of Scott Pagano at DT or the super freshman named Dexter Lawrence but this team is going to have some growing pains against teams with a dynamic offensive philosophy. Home Field is Key Bobby Dodd Stadium has been sort of a burial ground for the Clemson Tigers the last decade. Program has not beaten Georgia Tech in their crib since 2003. It was also the venue that DeShaun Watson had that knee injury during his freshman year. Key to the Yellow Jackets success has been long drives. The option gives them the jail break ability with any play and now they also have the consistency to move the sticks with ease. Almost 250 yards on the ground comprises a good chunk of their near 400 yards in total offense. Do not make the mistake in thinking that this years Clemson defense will be able to stuff the Yellow Jackets option. With only 11 games to go, another loss to Toronto will just about kill their chances to get an AL Wild Card spot. Steady ML price with the total moving from 7 1/2 to 8. Runline Toronto has gone down from +140 to +130 on the -1 1/2 spot. Seattle is the home dog near +110 for this one. Most of the factors will go Seattle’s way here. A sweep for either team is damaging at this point. Orioles at home with Bundy on the mound stand near a +115 level ML underdog. Market has been stable on this offering during the overnight period of speculation. Head Scratcher? Desperation is supposed to be a factor but look at the form that Bundy of Baltimore comes in with and tell me if Boston should be a road underdog here. 10 walks 1.70 WHIP 4.91 ERA Now Baltimore has at least produced the run support necessary for him to go 2-0 during that stretch for Bundy. So they need offensive fireworks to counter him being on the mound. Porcello’s recent stretch as well as form over the course of the entire season makes this less likely.
