  1. Do you want to know what happened? If you read through the thread and piece it together, it's pretty obvious that John tried to give Railbird my phone number but screwed it up. The phone number he gave him has a couple of digits in the wrong order. Other people in forum land including one that rhymes with tote tote tote have my phone number and could pretty easily verify that, that's the case but I'd rather my actual number not be public, thanks. On the day I won, John told me Railbird used PayPal previously so I gave John my PayPal address to give to Railbird. A day later, I'd won the BetOnline weekly contest over there so John called to get my BOL ID, and told me on the phone he would be sending Railbird my PayPal address but was waiting because Railbird had a bad beat and he didn't want to put him any more on tilt. I hear nothing until the end of the week, so I inquire. John says he'll reach out to Railbird again. Same response. Next week passes, same thing. At some point in there, John gave Railbird my phone number, except he reversed a few of the numbers. John also never asked me if he could give Railbird my phone number and then never told me he did anyway, so I had no idea I was to be expecting a text or call. So Railbird is probably texting or calling a phone occasionally for two weeks with no response, while on the other end I'm asking John when I'm going to get paid. And despite this John does not seem to be able to communicate to me that Railbird is trying to contact me, or apparently communicate to Railbird that I am not getting his texts/calls. Brilliant. Anyway, not just because of the money, but also because I think Railbird is a capricious dolt and this entire situation is a complete shit show involving either some racist tout stiffing $250 or John Kelly being too oblivious to follow his own directions, or to give out a correct phone number. Meanwhile, I've got some imbecilic 40+ year old man child who has pretended to be a cat for a decade and can't tie his own shoes sending me screen shots of a text he sent to the incorrect phone number Railbird posted as evidence he had been trying to contact me, and this special-ed case postulates (apparently reinforced here in a post by power-thinker ERB who I guess believes it) that I must have blocked his number or changed mine, and not just that JOHN GAVE RAILBIRD THE WRONG NUMBER IN THE FIRST PLACE. On and on goes the parade of idiots. So Saturday night I call John and ask him why he would give out my phone number without asking, but more importantly why he would do so without telling me. How would I know to expect a message from Railbird? Why would I be okay with not knowing who does and doesn't have my number? John calls me while my phone is off last night and leaves a message. In all his brilliance, his solution is to give the guy who just created that thread shitting on his whole forum for being idiots RAILBIRDS NUMBER, in case, you know, I want to make that public I guess too. (I don't). This could all be cleared up by having a clear cut way of settlement agreed to in the first place, but that doesn't get to happen because apparently Railbird just calls John Kelly and tells him he is going to be on. I didn't even know I was going to be playing Railbird until about 4PM the day of, when John calls me to tell me Railbird has decided he is going to go on the radio tonight so I could either challenge him or come on another night. So then I get to listen to John and Railbird bumble fart through the world's most awkward 10 minute segment about the Lord and the Bible and some relative of Railbird being brutally murdered. Ok let's gamble. I suppose this also all could have been cleared up had anyone on the forums had more than the mental capacity of a turtle, but if I am guilty of anything, it is expecting too much. I will not be calling Railbird for the money. There's a few more paragraphs you for to misunderstand and/or speculate on in the most moronic ways possible.
  2. I was not fired, I am not posting at the forums anymore because they basically don't have any value to me that hasn't cost twice as much in frustration and nonsense. In the two months I tried to be super-active on the forums I had two insane people attempt to hi-jack my Twitter, post personal identifying information of a friend because they thought it was me, try to call my phone, and on and on. It's absurd, and it wasn't worth the compensation to me, so I worked out my own situation and decided to leave. To answer ERB's claim that I "past-posted a 5-0" and "lost all credibility after that point." This is ridiculous, but take it however you want it. I posted 5 NFL plays in the middle of the early games -- because before that I was doing other things -- in which one or two of them were losing. ERB even responds in a follow-up post that he "bets one of the losing bets I post turns around", clearly indicating it was both ACTIVE AND LOSING. They do end up turning around, which in ERB's eyes is a worse sin apparently than having not posted them at all. Would I have lost all credibility if two of those games went against me and I ended up 3-2? Or if one of the late games didn't come through and I lost 2-3? So I was essentially punished for getting lucky. Great. "Credibility" is the currency by which you live on the forums, except you can't trade in it and lack any control over it. You're essentially just a victim to being bankrupt of it whenever the opportunity strikes. Well that is a stupid game that I don't want to play. Beyond just that, I think one of the games was my daily pick in the Best Bet contest at EoG, so I obviously wasn't past posting that one. ERB asks earlier in the thread if I would be keeping a record and I explain that I do not post everything I bet so I felt a record would be both useless and inaccurate. And then he jumps from that to me "losing my credibility" because I had 5 lucky games which would apparently enhance my non-existent record? The bar is impossibly high and ridiculously arbitrary. It is essentially a low value game where my punishment for taking an offer from TGF was to be treated like a tout or shill regardless of what I did or how I prefaced it. Pointless. I delivered pretty exact information that this isn't the whole picture of my betting, so why keep a record, and I'm still being accused of fudging my record for credibility purposes. It's asinine. And the frustrating thing is, ERB is at the top of the heap as far as posters go. He's skeptical but polite, he questions but doesn't engage, and he compliments when he thinks it's necessary. And I have lost all credibility with him because a game I was discussing live with him where I should have lost won, so I got to "past-post" 5-0. And this flies in the face of me posting absolutely horrible college football cards without any attempt to "past-post" my results there, when I have live bets that would have inflated them, and on and on. I think my record in this thread is probably under .500 and yet I "past-post" live football games in order to artificially inflate my otherwise legitimate and shitty record to be slightly less shitty? Asinine. And you see, he made it sound a lot worse, but that's sort of the idea on the forums. And that's sort of why I don't think they're really all that useful. If you're curious what else, I was compensated with a comp. subscription to Sports Options in exchange for writing content on the forums, something akin to "Jimmy the Greek', but with my own style. I was posting about three a day, but boat said he hadn't seen many and hoped it was because I was just busy. The reason he probably hadn't seen them was because they plummet down the forums. Because no one reads long form on the forums, because everyone is interested either in asinine accusations or having the attention span of a pea. I stopped posting picks because, quite frankly, it wasn't worth it to me to be irrationally criticized for them and I didn't feel the need to denigrate any further my name in other betting circles based on shitty or short-sighted accusations. Maybe I have a thin-skin, but my point of view is that not just every thread I posted was either ignored or deduced to a dumb argument, every thread most everyone posted reduced into that. Pointless. I wasn't really being criticized heavily or anything, but I've seen these threads a thousand times and seen a hundred other people like me come and go from the forums for this very reason, usually with worse results, and yet legitimate thief touts, people with histories of stiffing people or harassing people run rampant and mostly unchecked. Who would want to invite themselves to continue with that? When we first talked Boat offered me the SO arrangement through January and was never anything but professional or courteous. I like Sports Options a lot, and I wanted to continue the service, but also knew I wanted to quit the forums because I don't like them. I contacted Sports Options and asked them if they could offer me the same comp in exchange for the work I do on Twitter, which would also free up Boat an extra comp sooner so we didn't linger to its obvious end in January and I didn't have to mull along providing basically no real value here. SO was able to oblige, and that was the impetus for me getting out of the forums. I was never compensated anything by EoG for my contributions. I liked that site and I wanted to help out John and help out my own brand by contributing more when the forums kicked back up. And I would suspect that John, liking my previous contributions, played favorite to me but that was never directly stated to me. I just took advantage of what was offered. And after trying to get along over there it is the same shit as the other forums, so I decided the forums weren't for me. I'm sure they're for a lot of people, but they're not for me. I have too thin a skin or too different a disposition or whatever it is, and that's fine. I still post all my gambling content + more since it is more real time, on my @hustledouble Twitter. And this is my last post here.
  3. Moved from 77 to 84 as of 1 PM Central today. 42-16 and 49-0 are last two finals, but totals in 2011, 2010 and 2009 did go over 84. I think I am probably going to put a little something on the under. Don't think it can actually go any higher, can it?

  5. Most of Netflix's TV series have been pretty good actually. Sandler was dead before this though. Not really that funny.
  6. Is Rocker still dating that black girl whom he used as the example that he doesn't hate black people?
  7. There was a little static. Ink was very very quiet. He said he was nervous. So I had to have his volume cranked all the way up. It shouldn't always have the hiss.
  8. Why don't you come on a podcast with me Fish and we'll talk about it?
  9. Thanks for listening. Is there anyone who realizes I don't get to choose the voice I have? Or at least that this is not the original and hilarious insight it seems? It does bother me. That's an hour and fifteen minutes of good, free content with another community member. Frustrating.
  10. TOTAL San Francisco Giants/Pittsburgh Pirates Under 6.5 -107
  11. http://www.hustledouble.com/HD100114Final.mp3 After a break the HD podcast is back with a new mixer and better audio quality. This week I'm joined by The Gambling Forum poster Inkwell77. We talk Bitcoin sportsbooks, Pac-12 Football, NFL, Model/System Betting, what we like about The Gambling Forum and the difference between living in Vegas and betting offshore. ------ I'm looking for more TGF members to interview. If you post here and are interested in talking shop, let me know in this thread or a private message and we will set-up a time. Thanks to SportsOptions and The Gambling Forum who have both provided an opportunity for this podcast to have a wider audience and grow with this community. Lastly thanks to Inkwell77, a great interview and sharp guy.
  12. Yes, kudos to boat. He actually went out of his way to make sure I got a payoff when I hadn't checked my PMs in a few days. I won a free-roll here and he needed my ID, when I didn't respond he searched through and found my ID in an old contest. There is no better place to play contests than this site.
  13. I like the Raptors under. Maybe the Heat over. I don't think the Raptors are 6 games better than the Heat. I think the Pacers and TWolves overs are worth looking at too.
  14. Do you prefer Canseco or Dunn's career? Dunn: Had more consistently great power numbers over the course of his career (Canseco played 2 more years than Dunn) Dunn: Had 400 more walks Dunn: Had better high watermark seasons Dunn: Has never really been widely accused of juicing in the heart of the steroid era Canseco: Had more tools early in his career before trading them for the juice Canseco: Had more hits and fewer strikeouts Canseco: Was probably, amazingly, less of a defensive liability over the course of his career Canseco: Had 124 playoff plate appearances but never really fared that well
  15. Retiring at the age of 34, 22 HR this year. 38 HR shy of 500, he finishes tied for 35th all time on the homer list, with Jose Canseco, 3 behind Dave Winfield and 10 ahead of Carl Yastrzemski. Quite a career. A lot of big flies and a lot of whiffs. He ended up with 2,379 strike outs, he hadn't hit above .220 since 2010. From 2004-2010, he had HR totals of 46, 40, 40, 40, 40, 48, 38 and 38 -- one of the better streaks in baseball history. Inexplicably, in 2011 he hit only 11 homers with a .159 average despite playing 122 games.
  16. Derek Norris was a shit show in that game. He's lucky the A's built such a lead to make that the story because he was a huge liability. Beane is probably dead now.
  17. If you need to pull Shields pull him, but why go to Ventura? You have a good bullpen. It's what got you a home playoff game in the first place. Manage like you've been there, Yost!
  18. It's so much faster now. Much easier to move thread to thread to post. Good jobs guys.
