KingRevolver
For saying what everyone else is thinking: "Goodell, if he didn't know what was on that tape, he's a liar," Simmons said Monday. "I'm just saying it. He is lying. I think that dude is lying. If you put him up on a lie detector test that guy would fail. For all these people to pretend they didn't know is such fucking bullshit. It really is — it's such fucking bullshit. And for him to go in that press conference and pretend otherwise, I was so insulted. I really was." KingRevolver
The NFL seems to have ESPN by the balls. Unbelievable.

hels
It's sad how the media is becoming more and more controlled. The stupid part is we like controversy and we want to hear the non-ideal opinions. However, we are quickly being prevented from hearing them. What the state does not realize is humans aren't all stupid sheep and restricting outside opinions will only cause those opinions to find other avenues. Small groups will form but will become connected forming larger groups. Of course the state will attempt to prevent this but in America that will be very difficult. Anyways, long story short, when voices are quieted it will lead to greater consequences. Taking away freedom is -EV
KingRevolver
Good post, hels. He can't give his opinion on his own fucking podcast? What a joke. It's beyond ridiculous. What he said wasn't even bad- just the truth.
eberetta1
I think Goddell is not telling the truth. Tough we live in a country with freedom of speech, but it can cost you your career if you state the truth or get paid $40 million a year if you continue to lie. yisman
this is messed up they won't even let him tweet he's been posting his NFL picks online for many years and since they didn't let him post them on the site or tweet them, no one has any idea what they were for week
Hangover
Espn and NFL are pretty much the same thing. Simmons is the man and I listen to his podcasts religiously but he is a fool for biting the hand that feeds him. He probably has the following to go out on his own but then he loses all the team media access that espn provides. Not to mention Goodell will probably blackiist him if he left ESPN lol. yisman
it's just like when the NFL killed off Playmakers because ESPN made it too realistic
KingRevolver
This is a bad move by ESPN +1 Completely censoring the guy for having an opinion that really isn't that controversial. Unfortunately, NFL and ESPN are too powerful for anyone to really doing anything to hurt them.
KingRevolver
Update on Bill Simmons: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/industry-scuttlebutt-bill-simmons-wants-183748653.html Guy wants out.
yisman
can't believe they did this during NFL season Simmons has been posting NFL picks online for many years and this ended his run. ESPN was way out of line. They've had several articles pointing out that Goodell was lying.
