yisman Posted May 10, 2016 Report Share Posted May 10, 2016 aside from Mauer declining, the Twins totally mishandled the whole thing it makes no sense to give him a giant contract when you're moving him to first what they did is paid him as a top-hitting catcher when he was becoming a 1B, where he was average at best. his entire value was that he could hit and play catcher.
