TobyTyler
So many people have lost the connection with growing their own food. So sad to see. Spankie people with kids and jobs don't have time for maintaining a garden. much as i would love to a garden is bottom of list.
spankie
I'm hoping to have cornish hens by 2018 if everything goes well next year. Flock of 50-100 cornish hens.

I like to cook just figured you had to be doing it if she is doing all the income providing :hurraythe wife does pretty well bringing home the bacon, but she has a lot of catching up to do. I am a pretty decent cook, but I hate cooking so I don't bother. My wife loves to cook. She grades the first week of Hello Fresh at a solid A-

Well I know onea guy who feeds a family of 6 on a few acres. He puts in 10 hours a week of farm work. It might be hard for some people to find 10 hours in a week. timetopay
WVU actually just had this talk with the wife and may give one of them a try Im sick of having tons of extra things hit the trash because we need a little of something for a new recipe shes trying
spankie
And I shouldn't try to push my ways on people, but I find it very wasteful when I see a nice house on a 2 acre green lawn. It makes no sense to me. But I think differently.

If you do the family of 4 deal for 3 days, the first week will only cost $60. And all these places have free shipping. Everything comes in one (1) box. They put a bunch of those freezer packs in the box to keep it cold.
timetopay
Spank would be a hell of a job. Maybe it's out there already but not sure. Like Toby said most of us don't have time or knowledge but I agree with you on the idea. Instead of all these lawn cutting services a service that comes up and sets up the garden and takes care of it once a week.
Bfo
same here. Constantly throwing food away in my house. That is something that really bugs meNew Years resolution for me every year and can never seem to stick to it. Not just perishables getting thrown away either. Always have some shit that just sits there for months and eventually expires. Spontaneous decisions to go out to eat too often are usually the main cause for food getting tossed out at my house. spankie
I've thought about doing an urban gardening project. Would be a lot of work though. Basically go around neighborhoods, ask communities if we can use part of their property to garden, share the harvest at the end of the year. Build communities, educate, grow healthy food. spankie
Yeah that's not an efficient method. A killing cone, and a slit to their throat and they just doze off peacefully. You don't want em flailing around, can damage the meat.
