easy does it
just checked the schedule for next week and Houston-Oakland on Monday night in Mexico. Usually with these games in England its a noncompetitive team being the home team and giving up homefield advantage so it doesn't make a difference. However with this matchup both teams are currently leading there divisions and this is a huge game, especially for an Oakland team that is tied for 1st in perhaps the toughest division in football and they could use every advantage they can get. Taking away a home game from them here is obviously a handicap and everything from not playing in your own stadium to travelling back for the following weeks game, as this game will be played on monday night so it will be a shorter week along with travel clearly provides an advantage for both KC and Denver in the division. Simply put it is not an equal playing field for all teams in the division. I'm surprised no one has come out to complain about it yet. BarryRunSome
Playing in other countries is building the brand. Building the brand puts money in the owners pockets Why would they complain? The NFL for us is entertainment For them it's a cash cow. tripp
$$$$$$$$$$$ Globalizing the game creates a lot more $$$ for the owners long term and forward thinking owners are also trying to brand their franchise in these locations first hoping to get a fan base going (its why the Jags opted to play a home game in London 4 straight years- only issue with their thinking is when you completely suck you dont get many new fans)
FairWarning
Globalization went out with this election, Tripp.
Dingo
They must have some form of revenue sharing with the venue it is held at
FairWarning
Idk about the Mexico games, but teams who give up a home game for London get priority to host a SB.
barman
The Greatness are angling for a Relo to Las Vegas and don't give a crap about games in the antiquated OAC. They are giving up "home field" but so are the Texans. Pretty sure that Raider Nation plays pretty strong in the barrios of California statewide so MC should be a pretty supportive crowd
