UPDATE: 11/25 COMMANDER AND STAFF MEETING 
OP ORDER UPDATE: 11/27 will be posted Facebook event page 

2K EVENT CAPACITY ACHIEVED: Event capacity based on accommodations, travel logistics and supplies; given the time we have to coordinate, resources available, shipping and weather conditions in the regions has been set at 2,000 rostered participants. We currently have over 2,100 Veterans on the roster. Our goal now is to prioritize this list to Veterans and Civilian personnel involved with operations, planning & onsite execution. We will be collecting names for future missions on a new roster( https://goo.gl/forms/KOQMNIqqWABMsbYE3), next mission could be as early as the 2nd week of December. More to come 

GUIDANCE HAS BEEN UPDATED FOR ACTIVE PERSONNEL & CHILDREN. We ask that active military personnel NOT participate in any onsite activity at Standing Rock, we understand why you want to be there, but cannot reconcile that with the risk to you or our mision, stand down (with respect). We also ask that Parents keep Children at home. Between weather conditions, potential for hostility and limited accommodations for the overwhelming support we've received we cannot provide adequate protection for them so we have made the decision to ask you to leave them at home, for their safety. 

EVENT PAGE POSTING: Since our numbers have grown so rapidly we have opted to close public posting on the Facebook event page. News and information about the mission was lost in the support and thank you's (which we are so grateful for) but blocks information on news, site updates, travel and other communications that are critical to our success. We will be opening a fan page or private group after 11/27 to capture your comments and good wishes. In the meantime, if you have question related to the mission please direct them to [email protected] and we'll get you to the right people as fast as we can 

REGIONAL TRAVEL LEADERS: Based on your travel form feedback, those of you who have volunteered for for Regional Travel Leadership (RTL) roles will be allocated to statewide teams. From there we'll ask you to break down your region and get to work contacting folks who've signed up for rideshares & planning routes to pick up donated supplies along the way. Transport will be rented centrally with RTL guidance on size and seating requirements. RTL's will be notified directly later today of their assignments. They will in turn reach out to everyone who has completed the travel request form in their territory. We strongly urge you to complete all travel related survey's and forms quickly, we're mobilizing 2K people & need to organize fast. 

GEAR PURCHASE: Unfortunately we are not able to provide funding or reimbursement for gear. Many have offered to donate and we'll be doing the best we can to match up your needs with folks giving. That being said we will be purchasing some "extra" gear (gas masks, body protection) but there WILL NOT be enough for everyone. Please ensure you are suited up appropriately for the weather and for the mission as a whole. All gear that we purchase will be left at the camps, we hope that you'll consider leaving your gear behind as well, as a donation to incoming troops. 

TRAVEL SUPPORT: To request travel support, of any kind listed below, you must be a rostered member of the mission and have completed the Ride-Share/Travel Request form you were sent following your sign up. Those leveraging the Ride-Share option will be fully covered on transport & will be reimbursed for lodging and fuel after the event - travel guidelines will be included in the 11/27 OPS update. Those of you driving your own vehicles still need to check in with your RTL on route and location for supply pickups, onsite meetup's and parking. We will provide you both fuel and lodging reimbursements after the mission following the travel guidelines (SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS). Those of you requesting Air transit, we cannot commit to covering the costs of air travel. If you can only travel by air we will do our best to reimburse you after the mission but we cannot guarantee funding will be available to do so. Please submit any air transit requests to [email protected] You must also be a rostered member of the mission to eligible. 

PACKING LIST/UNIFORMS: Packing list is coming in the the 11/27 OPS ORDER update. Clarification regarding uniforms will also be included. We do not want you in full uniform, we do want you to bring that touchstone item that ties you to your military service that you still have and cherise. Bring your token of your personal service to this country and its people. We are moved by your stories and your drive to participate in this mission - carry that energy with you into this operation. 

REMINDER: NO WEAPONS, NO EXCEPTIONS. Leave your anger at home we will no doubt encounter hostility from various sources - prepare yourself mentally for that but also prepare yourself for the power of 2,000 Veterans from every corner of this country coming together with no regard for race, color, gender, politics, religious affiliation...nothing but a commitment to the oath they signed to protect this country and its people. An oath that cannot be unsigned, that promise of service and honor. The eyes of the world are upon you now, and now more than ever we need this action to succeed.

Since I've never seen US Veterans hit with water cannons and rubber bullets by our own police.
