They no longer from a pricing point attempt to compete with Lowes or home Depot. But rather provide superior service,quality of products and offer in house experts who can not only assist at time of sale but also at time of instillation. Many now have an area where local contractors are on hand and will give instant bids on instalation of buildings as well as land scape and items such as flooring. By the end of 1959, Menard found it necessary to hire extra crews, and to purchase more equipment to keep up with demand. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire in 1962, Menard purchased land in Eau Claire and built an office and shop.
