In the last few week, Trumptards and the fake news media spazzed out about bias at the FBI and the Justice Department (two of the most conservative entities in Washington) specifically because an agent was fired for potential bias (??? he was fired, what more do you want) and then Trumptards and the fake news media spazzed out about the Trump transition emails. This is from the Los Angeles Times: There is no 4th Amendment protection of transition emails, which are on government servers with government addresses, and no executive privilege since the Trump team was not yet in office. These counterfeit arguments are strictly for public relations purposes. Trump's own response: “...a lot of lawyers thought that was pretty sad.” Sad indeed. There will probably be more sadness in that Team Mueller interviewed Team Trump without Team Trump knowing that they had those emails. So after several weeks of Republican attacks on Mueller on Capitol Hill and Fox News saying the Mueller investigation is a coup to set the table, Trump came back from Camp David this weekend to a lot of "rumors" in Washington that he was going to fire Mueller when Congress leaves for Xmas. He then said that he would not fire Mueller. So probably he will fire Mueller and it will probably happen in the next two weeks when Congress is on break. It has nothing to do with transition emails or FBI bias. Trump should fire Mueller before Kushner is indicted because it looks more proactive than reactive. He will first have to start firing Justice Department officials until he finds one who will fire Mueller. It's going to be harder to find another Bork. There will be a backlash to the firing, just like there was a backlash to the Comey firing. This would give the obstruction of justice charges even more weight. There was nothing like Fox News in the early 70s (which has basically become the American equivalent of Soviet-era Pravda) so it will make everything more messy and help Trump that he has media support that he can count on no matter what. But the Saturday Night massacre was the tipping point to the Nixon Presidency. When Nixon came into office he had a 60% approval rating. When he left it was at 25%. Trump has much less wriggle room. He's at about 35%. When the American people find out the tax cut mostly benefits Trump, Trump's family, rich people and corporations he probably has even less wriggle room. A Democrat won a Senate seat in the most conservative state in America. Go figure. Need Trump to fire Mueller to win my bet with Fat Little Ted.
