Is Kvitova a Good Play Down Under?

Not since Novotna has a female player suffered so much from nerves and surface. Petra has had some horrid follow ups since her Wimbledon win even losing to a very low ranked player at the US Open. So it is very important that her form going into this one on the same continent is good. She looked solid and even had some flash in her 7-5. 6-1 semi win to advance to the Sydney International. She gets a break avoiding Kerber in the final after Angelique was blown off the court 6-3, 6-2.

Call it Quits Del Potro

Juan showed a blip of promise in the second round bouncing the #1 seed from the Sydney. Unfortunately, it was Fognini of Italy which barely counts as a quality win. Juan follows this up losing to a qualifier. The anonymous player is not one of those up and comers as he lost in straight tie breaks. Del Potro's physique has been a problem for this player the last couple of years. He has the power and good footwork for his height. The problems is that he plods around the court and his reach is not the best. Throw in the lack of endurance because of a near year long absence and it will be good night sweet prince for him in Aussie 2015. He is not seeded and look for the heat to take him out early.

Anderson Gets to Kiwi Semis

Another tourney where the top seeds having problems. Kevin was supposed to be what Milos had turned into going into the ATP championship. With Raonic not giving a dam in that tourney, it is encouraging to see Anderson work very hard to get into the semis winning 6-4, 7-6 (8). This is a player that could go very far if he gets the right draw. Avoid the Novak portion and his game can demolish anyone else when he is on. The heat should not bother him as much as others of his build. All about the draw with this player. Be ready to strike when the draw comes out.

Sorry. Not a lot has changed but Kvitova is starting to look like a buy. Del Potro is a never buy. Kevin Anderson should be a buy if he avoids Novak's side of the draw and oddly Kei could give him fits. Anyone else, even Roger, could be fodder if he gets into the groove.
