I am going with the former Dunno about the USA but in Canada you only have to file if you owe taxes, if you are owed a refund the Canadian government says its ok not to file. SSI/disability doesn't count toward that number so there are people out there with $20,000/year disability and 10,000/year or less in other income that aren't filing. a family of 4 making 30k/year and taking advantage of government programs (food stamps, utility assistance, obamacare) will have about the same spendable income as a self-employed person making 100k a year. which is totally ridiculous... why should me or my clients make 100k only to pay 40k in taxes on it (income taxes and both halves of ss/med) and 15k in health insurance? the ones that don't mind taking government money will just make 30k (or even worse make 100k and report 30k)... They are my enemy and refuse to give them any credibility. I never gave anyone power over me period. And the Government has proved my point over and over again. I have only had a drivers licence for about 12 years out of the 40 I have been eligible for one. I simply don't give a fuck what this Government wants from me. I also have lived an awesome life so I have no idea why any of you would think that is impossible....... the guy never fails to disappoint.
