milwaukee mike
So not 800k but closer to 115 kids. Big difference not 115, more like 15k-20k/year
IAG
Did I read that right? Is that saying only 5% of non-family abductions get reported? “But in other ways, the NCIC may understate the figures. Many missing persons aren't reported at all—a 1997 study estimated that only 5 percent of nonfamily abductions (in which a nonfamily member detains a child using force for more than an hour) get reported to police.” I read this a few times and still doesn’t make sense to me. WVU
not 115, more like 15k-20k/year20k are trafficked for child sex every year? Sounds high. Way high. That would mean 2 or 3 thousand just from Florida. I ain't buying it.
WVU
yeah... but out of those 800k... even if its a 1000 bro, its a huge issue... especially if people high up are involved i dont care how you rationalize it, I dont rationalize with children being butchered, my instinct would be to kill someone who does to a child and protect them kill them all, no jailI'm not rationalizing anything. You told me to do the math. I did the math.

WVU
According to Todd Matthews of the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, or NamUs, most cases of missing persons are quickly cancelled. Of the 661,000 cases in 2012, only 2,079 were still unresolved at the end of the year, and the number of cases generally decreases each year. mikeman
The real question is why is there a statute of limitations on the rape of a chi!d?Because memories fade and it's very hard if not impossible to be certain someone is guilty based on years old accusations. I think sol's are a good thing overall, if you cant muster up the courage to come forward after 10 or 15 years, then it's just too late. IAG
While trafficking is often thought of as something that happens across international borders, it also happens in America—every single day. According to Polaris Project, there are 100,000 to 300,000 children prostituted in America and many more at risk. (You can learn how to identify a trafficking victim at the State Department website.) https://www.themuse.com/advice/human-trafficking-the-myths-and-the-realities Muncher May be right,

Sounds like they were perverts meeting kids a la Chris Hansen. Disgusting, but not trafficking. I guess we will find out.

IAG
Why would I make big numbers up? I like being cautious, I wish we were talking about less than 1k kids... I WISH I dont think Id be this hell bent on this mission if the number was so low... I don’t think you would make numbers up, but there are many different definitions and age categories and so forth..different ways to interpret data. When I think of trafficking i think of abductions and being sold elsewhere like on that movie.

When I think of trafficking i think of abductions and being sold elsewhere like on that movie. If they are not doing it of their own accord it is. i guess the giant number variation is due to fact that most are not abducted by strangers and sold...they start as runaways and then fall in with people who end up holding them hostage and prostituting or selling them. Apparently it’s the fastest growing enterprise of organized crime.
WVU
Child prostitution and child porn are part of human trafficking.. so is butchering them for organ trafficking You are profiting with the enslavement of others... children in these casesJust because a minor is prostituting doesn't mean he/she was trafficked? Combining those numbers doesn't give a true picture of child trafficking Edit...yeah what lagger said

WVU
They have broadened the definition of child trafficking to include just about everything. I did learn something here and is why I was arguing the numbers. Convincing a minor to fuck you doesn't seem to be on the same scale to me as abducting your neighbor girl and selling her off to China. Neither does prostitution. Whatever the numbers, it’s clear that the problem is rapidly increasing.
WVU
No, but convincing a minor to fuck your friend and you keeping 20% makes you a trafficker Is the law... is made like that to involve harsher consequences and deter the business. Clearly not working. In sturgess the child trafficking unit arrested those guys trying to meet up with a minor. No one was profiting there but will still add to your numbers
IAG
No Mollie yet, but wow have I seen some truly bizarre things in the last 12 hours. They did however find the missing autistic boy. Not alive. That’s sad. Had a dream that I kissed WVU last night and he essentially spit in my mouth. That’s awkward.
