That's life. Gambling humbles most in the long run, but if you want to play the hot shot go right ahead. It certainly never ends well.

Football seasons like this for me make me glad I'm not a big shot with my wagers. Had many years where I killed it.

This year I'm taking an absolute beating.  If I was betting 1k a wager like some here I'd be looking for a rope.

Money is relative.......whatever moves your needle. Hell playing fantasy football with kinger moves my needle farther than a 1k bet for me. :laugh

gambling is the best reminder in life that if you dont continue to evolve and change - instead continuing to rely on what worked for you yesterday - you'll be left behind. I like the challenge of winning, but I hate the reality of losing. A wise man would have quit betting football and baseball years ago but a stubborn man strides forward. Thank god for my wife in regards to those two sports.

and I am seriously considering tailing all of your plays going forward. The pendulum will swing back my man. Stay in the game and good luck this week.

The older I get and the older my kids get, the less important sports and gambling are to me.  I still enjoy the rush of watching a game with money on it.  But it's nothing like it used to be.

The only way to get that back would be to crank it up a notch.  Just not interested in that.  Not with my current goals with my money and career change.

So I'll just plug away with my $20 online bets and my $800 monthly trips to Vegas.  It's what I budget.  Just wish I could get some of that back.

I'll always remember a line I once heard.... "I wish I could break even today.  i really could use the money."   :laugh

yeah. I actually dont like that I dont love every game like I used to but there are other priorities in life and a career and family to focus on. Winning doesn't feel as good as it used to and losing feels even worse (in regards to gambling) and as a fan neither matter as much. When I lose it almost feels like I'm losing someone else's money too

I miss all the free time I had to do those things but I enjoy the time I've replaced it with.

That last line sounds like you were sitting next to my grandfather at a sportsbook lol.

I’ve been breaking even now for 3 weeks straight. It’s frustrating to put all that time in to cap ,but just playing too many games per day. I’m at the point where it’s awful difficult to watch a game sober these days. If gambling sober then I’m more inclined not to watch the game.

Yikes.....here's to a good run for ya

Quit betting baseball? Why? Best major sport to bet.
