Well damn, I don’t think the Bushay box gets that. I remember watching it on FSN North.

Yea, and in the old days it would be on 9(or 5), most of the games are during the day anyway. So now they get no surfers who just pop in, only the small % of people who still care watch it.

will be attending Thursday

for St Paul its still an incredible event, attendance is super solid, the A tourney (which I don't care about personally too much) continues to grow.

the grumpy haters say this and that about everything.

channel 45 is weak yes but they have a nice production of the event.  TV in general has changed so much.  who does not miss Robb  Learh at  channel 5 KSTP and the annual interview and ride on the Zamboni each year.

White bear Lake has been to state (has a rich tradition of strong hockey in youth and in high school) has the incredible record that they have never won an opening game despite 17 or 18 visits to state!  The running joke is what is the most unlikely thing to see in St Paul?   White Bear Lake boys hockey playing on Friday night  (semis are Fri night)  wish them well, hard draw vs Blaine who looks great.

Edina girls won state and they go for the double as the #1 seed.

a really funny thing to do in the Bars and restaurants which are shoulder to shoulder packed iwth fans before or between sessions is say  "You know I really hate the Northern Teams"  omg  you have like a small mass riot,  if it snot your school or community everyone is in love with the Northern Teams   ;/     So Thurs night northern Morehead will have the entire stadium on that side over evil hated ELITE edina.  but Edina does not care they just win  very often.

One private school this year St Thomas  (another way to start a mini riot in the bars is to say "I Really love the Private Schools"   that hysterical also)

look for blaine, Eden Prarie  Edina and St Thomas to win

Edina over Blaine for 1st

Eden Prairie over St thomas for 3rd

and White Bear to take consolation in the losers side over Moorhead

A wise man once said, "It's the time of year where the non-metro teams hate the metro teams, the metro teams hate the private schools, and everyone hates Edina."

Minnesota High School Hockey Announcer Yanked Off Air After "Lynching Ropes" Comment

Doug McLeod, a play-by-play announcer for the Minnesota Boys’ State Hockey Tournament, was pulled off the air Thursday after he referred to “lynching ropes” during a game broadcast.

When Blaine scored to take a 3-0 lead in the second period of the team’s quarterfinal game against White Bear Lake, McLeod said, “All the White Bear fans get out the lynching ropes.” He then paused and said, “Just reporting.”

The Star Tribune reported that Tom Hauser, KSTP’s chief political reporter, was hosting coverage of the tournament and later apologized to viewers:

"Earlier in this broadcast this afternoon, there was an inappropriate comment made,” Hauser said. “If you were offended by this comment, we sincerely apologize.”

Really nice there is only 2 divisions. In most states they would go to 4-5 divisions because they beleive they would make more money

Used to be 1 class where you would have some small northern MN school facing an urban powerhouse, it was great, everyone followed it. Moving to two classes destroyed it IMO.
