I will be going to Del Mar next month!! Beautiful park but expensive, We get a table outside near the finish line. The cost of the table is $140 with nothing included. My daughter who lives in San Diego pays for the table and the women dress like they are at the Kentucky Derby and I love it!! Plus, I cant pick a winner at this park but will give it another try!!

i never understood paying for that kind of stuff, when you can find plenty of free seating and gamble/eat with the money

if you're part of the diamond club then it's $5 to get into the clubhouse... would much rather go 4 days in a row cheaply than 1 day with an expensive table

Last time I was at Churchill was for Grindstone in 1996, place seemed to be decaying even then. Still had some charm but was aging poorly. Pimlico another shithole where everything was old and crappy.

Big fan of Del Mar still, has been a couple years but always a classy atmosphere.

Was at Presque Isle Downs a couple weeks ago and it’s pretty much a dump. Opening day and they didn’t even bother to cut the grass in the infield area.

to me the real dumps at least have some camp value and fun though, like when we used to go to river downs in cincinnati before remodel... parking was free, beer was $1, etc... usually i'd rather buy 8 $1 beers at a dump than one $8 beer at arlington... churchill is the worst of both worlds though, too many people and too expensive for what the atmosphere is

balmoral/maywood in chicago always sucked but it was still a good time

I feel that way about Mountaineer Park, something about the place always seemed homey to me. Certainly not the clientele, but the track itself and the location always made it a good experience.
