Ever since the retirement of QB Peyton Manning in 2016 the team has had three straight losing seasons. Also they have yet to find a replacement at QB which shows just how hard it is in todays NFL to find a good QB. Their schedule will be hard as well besides playing in a very talented AFC WEST they also must face teams like Green Bay,Indy,Houston,Minnesota,Cleveland and Tennessee who have three straight winning seasons. Vegas says 7 so it could be around that amount of wins.
Sharp Square
Flacco an upgrade. Well while its probably true... offff! Hard to imagine any kind of "magic" happening that makes them well relevant at all.
Mike75
Flacco an upgrade. Well while its probably true... offff! Hard to imagine any kind of "magic" happening that makes them well relevant at all. Elway outside of Manning hasnt done a thing GM wise. Since Manning retired the team has 3 straight seasons with no playoffs the last 2 are 6 and 5 win seasons. From 1973 thru 2016 they had a 40 plus year period where they only had seven losing years 1975,1982,1990,1994,1999,2007 and 2010. They had 3 straight winning seasons of at least 10 or more wins and postseason appearances along with a Super Bowl loss in the late 70's with QB Craig Morton then from '83 thru '97 had 5 more Super Bowl appearances in the Elway era with 2 titles. From '99 thru '11 had only 5 postseason appearances in 13 years. Their least successful period...Why? No superstar QB like Elway or Manning. The bulk of the success in this era goes to Jake Plummer. From '12 thru '15 the Manning era produced 2 Super Bowl appearances with 1 title and 4 straight winning seasons all with 12 or more wins. Post Manning '16 thru '18 just 1 winning year 9-7 the other 2 losing years 6-10 and 5-11 and all 3 years were either last or next to last in division and also no playoff appearances. Yeah Elway really hasn't had a good run and hard to imagine this year stops that from continuing
El Chapo2017
From a betting angle, Flacco seems like the kind of guy who can get a few back door covers by throwing garbage TDs to cover a spread. As far as actually winning games, not so much.
JAKEPEAVY21
they will be better than the #22 ranked team, closer to middle of the pack.
Mike75
they will be better than the #22 ranked team, closer to middle of the pack. Maybe so,maybe not. I ranked them 22nd because the last 2 years they won 5 games then they won 6 games plus they play in a very tough division they could very well lose all their games vs Chiefs/Chargers and split with the Raiders that would be 1-5 right there. Also they play the tough AFC South where last year 3 teams(Colts,Texans,Titans) had winning records and the one team that didnt(Jax) went to the AFC Championship the year before. They also play the tough NFC North the Bears,Packers,Vikings who are all expected to make the postseason. They have what i would consider one of the hardest if not the hardest schedule of all 32 NFL teams in '19. To be honest i would bet the house Denver doesnt get over .500 or 8-8 in 2019, just too hard of a schedule.

theguesser
I think Denver will be in the bottom 5 of the NFL, and finish a distant last in the AFC West. 4-12 ish. Flacco has been less than mediocre for years.
