If you lived in Bloomfield Hills you had no water for half a day. If you lived on Vernor in Mexican Town you had no water for a week. If you lived in Brewster you had no water for a fukkin month.

 

Of course most of the kids in Brewster got really sick and couldn't attend school, a lot of them had to be held back. Some never recovered. The mayor at the time was Roman Gribbs, one of the worst racist pieces of shit ever lived.

Good video.  You can't gift those people in the back those things without punishing the parents who did things the right way - which creates the absolutely wrong incentives.

 

There is no external solution.  It has to come from inside.  And those people in the back will have to work harder to make up for it.  A fact of life.

 

And it's not something that's exclusive to race.  Not every white person was born into a head start.  There are a number of factors at play in the home including economic, language, substance abuse, physical abuse, physical disabilities, mental health, etc., etc.
