easygoer
There should be a new record of entries now. Cadillac Pete said at EOG there's 1034 entries now. With a week to go. :yay2

KingRevolver
Yeah, but what's the record? It's 1034? Record will be shattered, in that case.
Chickadee
Why so much interest this year? Did it get a lot of publicity leading up to it?
KingRevolver
You're right. I'm not sure why there would be a spike this year. Maybe it was mentioned on a major network?

jam
100% of the entry fees are paid pack in prize money? That's impressive. You're lucky if you get 80% in the large fantasy or survivor pools. It's a shame a similar contest hasn't been set up offshore so international entrants would be accepted, although then there would probably be problems for the Americans. Carib used to have one, and they usually paid out more than they took in, which is probably why they ended it last year.

WeinkeToWarrick
Gotta be the boom of the ESPN Insider Gambling section. When you consider the number of gamblers in the country, ESPN has successfully billed this as the "Super Bowl" of sports gambling and it's expanded a bit just like the World Series of Poker did back when Moneymaker made his run...
