rdalert447
Usually the best Holiday of the year, especially when the NCAA TOURNAMENT is going simultaneously. But still a great holiday to go to Church, drink iced cold beer, eat corned beef, and bet horses. Post your corned beef pics here. And Paddy, before you piss on my parade, I know cold beer and corned beef aren’t Irish traditions.

mikeman
Just imagine all the bars and restaurants that bought shitloads of corned beef, green beer, etc and now cant even sell it?
rdalert447
It’s a shame. Guaranteed that’s a big reason the big cities are closing bars and restaurants. They knew the Irish would come out regardless.

Dr. Paddy
Usually the best Holiday of the year, especially when the NCAA TOURNAMENT is going simultaneously. And Paddy, before you piss on my parade, I know cold beer and corned beef aren’t Irish traditions.Ha, ha, I wouldn't do that RD. Cold Guinness and other stouts are not the tradition, but a fair bit of beer is served coldish. Corned beef and cabbage is a traditional Irish meal, but not so much on Pat's day. Guinness is at room temperature. I get some pints over here, which are a little cooler than they would be if pulled in Dublin. Tomorrow is a bit fucked up for us. We were going to have the Pat's day meal for a few people, as usual, but people don't really want to clump together right now, so we are staying home and taking it easy. Maybe do that meal a month from now. I make soda bread, Guinness beef stew, colcannon, with peas for a green veg. You might not see peas in Ireland, and sometimes it's lamb stew. Colcannon is potatoes boiled with cabbage shredded, with some milk added, whipped, and then with a quarter pound of butter dropped into a hole in the middle of it all while its piping hot. I do the stew 8 hours in a slow cooker.
