Played two here today:

Race 6

$20 win #8 No Cents Left 6-1

$2 ex 8/ALL

Granitz is having his usual fantastic meet and he’s finishing up really strong. All his horses have run good the last two weeks. The surprising thing is you can still get decent prices on him. This entrant has run well this meet on turf and dirt. Versatile horse at a decent price. Will hope for a bomb underneath.

Race 9

$20 win #12 Drama an Victory 20-1

$2 exbx 12/5,6

Raymond is usually very tough here but the winning percentage has dropped this year. However, he’s sprinkled in some bombs for once. So the win rate is lower, but the ROI is similar/better. I guess the idea this year is to toss his short ones, bet the long ones.

Good luck. Hope everyone here is well!

Plus these four (4)

Tampa Bay Race No. 6 (3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT)

Duane Colucci likes #10 Blue Pidgeon (10/1 morning line). “This 9-year-old East-coaster tries hard almost every time from the Sweezey barn, which shows a ripe $2.79 ROI when returning horses from 31-60 days off. Although he only has five career wins, three races back he scored over this course and nearly had career top Beyer and Ragozin figures. Look for at least 10/1 or better; if less, don’t go crazy.”

Tampa Bay Race No. 8 (4:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT)

Ed Sehon likes #5 Baby Boomer (10/1 morning line). “Nine 3-year-olds have signed on for this tough-as-nails $75,000 Allowance Optional Claimer at six furlong. Based on his initial two starts (a second on turf, a win on dirt), ‘Boomer’ should sit right off the speedy pace and do his best running in the lane. Trained by capable Mary Bennett (13 of 21 starters in the money at meet), the grandson of super-sire Distorted Humor will be ridden by journeyman Gary Wales. Wager: Win & Place.”

Tampa Bay Race No. 9 (5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT)

Dave Tuley #4 Moro Drama (8/1 morning line). I’m not in the habit of betting horses that are 0-for-13 lifetime, but at least they’re adding Lasix for the first time (and it worked last time for trainer Joyce Kielty), so this gelding has a lot better chance to show improvement than a lot of these $16,000 maiden claimers. Wager: Win only (taking a cue from the reader who shared the racing one-liner “Win or bust” in this week’s Point Spread Weekly as Moro Drama either makes a big step forward and ends up in the winner’s circle or he doesn’t).

Will Rogers Downs Race No. 9 (5:15 p.m. ET/2:15 p.m. PT)

Dave Tuley #2 Billie G (8/1 morning line). You need speed at Will Rogers Downs, even in races like this at a mile, and we get that from Billie G breaking from the No. 2 post. Her runlines don’t look too impressive, but she’s been sprinting against better horses and now stretches out, so her speed should be more evident. Trainer Randy Swengo has strong stats with horses stretching out like this for the first time and we get top rider Ty Kennedy (hopefully that doesn’t hurt our price too much). Wager: Win.
