richsox24 Posted May 25, 2020 Report Share Posted May 25, 2020 There was a caution with 2 laps left. Elliot had by far the fastest car and was going to win easy without the caution. But even with the caution, he still restarts 1st with the fastest car. Instead his pit crew decides to get new tires for the last 2 laps while the guys right behind him stayed out. He dropped all the way back to 11th after pitting and flew all the way up to 3rd in just the last 2 laps. Thats how good his car was. Insane decision to get tires. He needed a team mate or someone to stay out with him to have a chance. Most of the time in that situation ,there is another caution ,then he would have won with another lap or 2.
