What does Big Ten have to gain by not allowing teams who have no scheduled game due to opponent not being able to play due to C19?

Nebraska wanted to play tenn-chat, Nebraska was willing to pay to have every Tenn-Chat team and staff member tested at big ten standards.

Why not let em play???

Agree.

Wisc has a few more positives today.

Those pussies didnt even want to come back. They felt pressured into it.

Its like when you were younger and you wanted to do something with your friends but your parents said no.

You begged them, you even got your friends parents to talk to them and they give in so as not to be the bad guys.

Now something negative occurs during outing  and they are like I told I didnt want you doing that and see what happens, now they go into

extra protection mode to make up for their "mistake" of letting you go in the first place. You aint getting shit conceded to you for a while.

your analagy is OK except for the "something bad happened"... people having genetic antibody material, without any symptoms whatsover, is a good thing... it means what any normal person has known all along, that covid is a total fraud and a weak virus

You trying to say  oh there are 230k death attributed to corona

Oh deaths are up 250k YTD, yeah that is close enough...confirmed BINGO!!!

The # of people who die each year runs pretty consistent as a % of the population year to year. 2020 has a spike of YTD about 1/4 million more.

draw what ever conclusion you want

Using the average numbers of deaths from past years underestimates the total expected numbers because of population growth or aging, or because of increasing trends in certain causes such as drug overdose mortality.

Also, stuff like lack of access to healthcare facilities, and lack of other treatments has resulted in excess deaths, along with increased suicides.

Suicide #'s are up in 2020. My guess and it is simply a guess is that auto related deaths are down due to people driving less due to working from home and as well with bars closed drunk crashes down. Both assumptions on my part.

I would also guess that the lower # of auto deaths more than off sets suicide  increases

weirdly enough suicide deaths in the usa are higher than auto deaths... and suicide deaths have risen in 2020 more than auto deaths have declined

CDC Director Robert Redfield also commented in July on a spike in suicides.

“There has been another cost that we’ve seen...We’re seeing, sadly, far greater suicides now than we are deaths from COVID. We’re seeing far greater deaths from drug overdose,” said Redfield.

Not sure where we're running now but earlier in the summer they were saying deaths were up because everyone was speeding on empty roads and freeways.

August 31st article

Give them an inch … and they’ll kill us all.

Car drivers are killing people — pedestrians, cyclists, their own passengers, themselves — at a much higher rate this year compared to last, even though total travel is down dramatically because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a new report shows.

Publicly available data crunched by traffic engineering firm Sam Schwartz reveals that the death rate per 100 million vehicle miles traveled was 1.15 for the first six months of this year, up from 1.02 during the same period last year — an increase of 12.7 percent.
