Reagan came in and cut taxes.. but the budget deficit exploded, so from 1982-1987, Ronnie raised taxes 11 times. 11!! Oh, and the middle class? Yeah, Reagan fucked them good and hard. Historically-- even at the height of the Cold War----- We spent just 6.8% of our GDP on defense. That's it. 6.8. Obama had it at 5.7 in 2011. 5 of 8 years under Reagan, we spent less than 6% of our GDP on Defense.
