housepicks
But your saying that David Montgomery isn't trying to bust 1 for 50 yards and a score when they are down 21 because of 98 year old Virginia McCaskey. Um...ok.

Jimmy Hoffa
You're mistaken if you think of the NFL as a sporting entity. It's in the entertainment and apparel business.

Chi_Archie
do those 32 and 32 controlling people put any incentives in the contracts for individual performances ever? do players believe that their performances and stats will help them get bigger contracts, stay on the roster, get more snaps, get advertising opportunities? none of this shit exists in some philosophical singular vacuum. It's all mixed up, with Testosterone leading the charge on sunday
Jimmy Hoffa
Irony... Chris Collinsworth just said Antonio Brown made a Business Decision when he decided not to throw a block for his running back.

Jimmy Hoffa
Watch an all 22 broadcast and see Randy Moss block downfield at Marshall. Watch an all 22 NFL broadcast and he's dogging it downfield.

housepicks
The bottom line is, NFL players care quite a bit more than just the score at the end of the game. Jim basically says teams just care about winning. But teams are made up of players and those players care about a lot more than that. Once they get paid they just don't exert the same effort as they did in college.

It's a mixed bag tinged with human shit You get all kinds in the NFL. super ra ra team before anything I want to win before anything sacrificial guys and guys that only care about stats or their next contract. There's a reason the Army recruits young single guys for the infantry. A married guy with a wife, kids and mortgage is less inclined to volunteer to do something dangerous because he's thinking about risk management. housepicks
I was trying to get Jim to talk about this post right here. And how 100% dead wrong he is about it. But then he changed the subject to a college/NFL comparison that nobody on the planet would argue. And he won't get back on topic.
