spankie
Anyone do this shit? My mom is turning into one of those paranoid prepper people, she has bought like 5k worth of supplies in the past 3 months. She says the US economy is going to collapse and we're all going to become slaves. I said where are you going to store all of your supplies and how are you going to carry it all? She doesn't know. I think it's a good thing to be prepared but idk.. If you are really going to survive some sort of crazy shit you're going to need primitive survival skills. Having a 2 year supply of food is going to be a target for thieves and people wanting your food. Probably be better off if you could just go out into the woods and snare some squirrels and rabbits. I wouldn't want to have a big cache of shit if something went down. Not sure what to think. I am not prepared for any sort of disaster. I have a fire starter and a flash light. spankie
I have one of those energizer all in one charger pack things and the last time the power went out I used it to keep a 13w light and power a laptop for about 8 hours until the power was restored. After that I would be fucked. try3 what would you eat after 3 days? are you a survivalist?
hustledouble
We keep a supply of drinking water around that would last us a couple weeks, but other than that not really.
The Seer
Anyone do this shit? . Probably be better off if you could just go out into the woods and snare some squirrels and rabbits. I wouldn't want to have a big cache of shit if something went down. Remember you will have to fight off others who have no food and want to live off the land. In Alabama, expect to be shot on sight in this senario if you are on some one else's hunting land. Five hundred pound bags of rice and 100# of beans with a sun oven is a better idea. Bags can be buried if various spots to be less of a target.

KingRevolver
Well, if something does happen, at least you'll be safe. The rest of us are screwed.
hels
There will be huge public uprisings that will drarf Occupy Wallstreet before the economy collapses. Unless a major war on US soil or catastrophic weather hits all of the US at the same time we will be alright.
spankie
What about some natural disaster we cant control tho hels. Maybe yellowstone erupting finally, or some mega earth quake. who knows. I think the majority of people are completely unprepared for anything like that. joeybagadonuts
My dad has a reasonable stock pile of guns, ammo, food, water, etc I think he's a nut, but I guess if anything did happen, I'd have a place to go and get supplies. eberetta1
Well, I assume if something plastered the earth, a lot of the population would die in the disaster. I figure I could be one, then I would not have to worry about dying over 9 months during the time no crops grow and people die a slow, grisly death.
