if you don't care about material things then what freedom can money buy you?

Sufficient money provides only one true benefit and that is it relieves you from spending any more time creating money.

Creating money is likely the most time consuming activity for most people who live in a capitalistic society

freedom is freedom... we can all just walk to montana and live off the wilderness, total freedom

I guess you misunderstood.

I meant material things that would be above and beyond living your normal means.

Not basic necessities like food/shelter, etc.

Tons of money would by you freedom from ever having to answer to anyone again.  Thats why I would enjoy it.

LOL. Dullard.

fwiw, see my own post further back

Regret is certainly a very normal human emotion.

Nonetheless it is highly irrational and serves no useful purpose that cannot be more easily realized by maintaining one's focus on the Present moment

I had been told that by numerous teachers during my first 50 some years, but once I really bought in the feeling of liberation is awesome

One of business mentors puts it well.

"Why do we work for money?"

"So we can accumulate enough that we no longer have to work for money"

Doesn't neccesarily mean we stop working, or building or serving, but it does mean that further money payoffs are wholly secondary

good point

i don't have to answer to anyone but life still sucks on this side of the fence

i guess it's like my dad told my sister... she said when she was 16 now she could do anything she wanted... and he said "ok grow 3 inches"

moral of the story is we can never really do what we want
