Here's a movie related story.

Back in 1995 I was the assistant manager and projectionist at the Stage 3 Movie theatre in downtown Aspen Colorado.

It's early January and we're playing Dumb and Dumber.

It's about 15 minutes before the 7pm shows and I see a group with several kids come through the front door.

It's Dustin Hoffman and wife with about 4 or 5 kids.

They walk in and take their seats.

About 5 minutes later Dustin walks back through the lobby and exists the front door.

About 10 minutes later the fucker comes back through the door with about 5 full clamshells of food from the bistro 1 block away.

Clearly against the rules. No food or drinks allowed to be carried in.

I'm in charge and I should stop him.

I pussed out and decided it wasn't worth getting fired over.

The story gets better.

So the Hoffmans get special treatment.

Near the end of the 7pm movie the late night crowd shows up, about 10 people. I notice one of those coming in.

It's Jack Nicholson and he's by himself.

He walks through and sits on a bench in the lobby. He's fucked up!!!!!

He's got the shit eating grin and he looks happy.

After a few minutes I say "How are the Lakers going to do this year Jack?"

He gives me a big thumbs up.

The 7pm movie ends and as I go to clean the Isles I tell Jack that Dustin Hoffman is in there. He says they must be waiting for the crowd to clear. He walks in and shoots the shit with Dustin till I tell them it's time to go. The next movie is coming up.

Nice story Heartman.  Were you able to live in Aspen or did you have to commute.  I skied there a lot (Ajax was the best, it was all wham bam).  I spent one summer there too without all the loaded dipshit out of town rich people and it was truly awesome.

At the time of that story I spent the winter in the movie theatre parking lot sleeping in the back of my truck.

I had keys to the theatre and had a shower, fridge and microwave in the office.

I saved up $5k and took off for Alaska in April. Dream come true. Worked the summer in Anchorage and drove back.

I spent several winters in a log cabin and teepee in Basalt 18 miles away from Aspen.
