Mofome
15 is too much, it should be 12. It has to move with inflation, it hasn't. The goobers who think Bernie is a revolutionary called for 15, they're not a bright group.
maron
I was one for dream big...felt that change needed to occur but business owners are just too sharp...cut labor and make those work harder who remain \ However big changes on the front with the overtime rules being re-written...that is where it could get ugly for entry level managers at fast food places and other types

I don't get the infatuation. He did jack shit for his state. Drug problems and racial disparity in prisons rose at a higher rate than any other state during a few recent years under Bernie. Reno Marty
Minimum wage shouldn't exist. If you want to work for $2/hr, why not? People don't have problems with unpaid internships either.

If you are in a bad job making shit wages, you need to move up, not stay in that position forever. To me it's designed to keep people poor and in their place, it's diabolical. If you think it is OK to replace market prices with forced prices - then simply make everyone a millionaire. This is why socialism does NOT work. If you think businessmen will not pay workers enough, you need to go back to economics school. Businessmen will pay workers whatever that worker is worth - if you keep government out of it. If you don't like how much a businessman if offering, you simply do not take the job. If nobody takes the job at the wage offered, then the businessman will have to offer more - or do the work himself. You idiots that want to give the government control over everything only make the situation worse. Yeah, go ahead and force businesses to pay more for a job than it is worth. You just lost someone a job, thanks.

Because employers then pass the burden of providing a living wage onto the gov't. Looked at walmart, almost everyone that works there is on some form of gov't assistance. This is corporate welfare at it's finest.

That's the direction the USA is going. That's how complete fking retards like Chavez end up getting elected and destroying a country. Unfettered capitalism is just as dangerous as socialism. If the Democratic Party would stop over-taxing so that they can hand out freebies to ignorant voters ( socialism ) in order to get those votes, then the market could figure out how much each job was worth. Each step we take toward socialism is going to make economic matters a lot worse. Just look at Europe. Lower taxes, stop handing out tax dollars to healthy people, and keep the government out of business - three steps to financial freedom for America. Chavez/Maduro have destroyed venezuala not because of capitalism, but because their socialist policies have totally mismanaged what was once the most wealthy nation in the region, try again! Try reading what I wrote again, and then change your answer. The socialists got elected after unfettered capitalism created a country where the top 1% owned every single thing and the 99% made nothing. If there were simple checks on the capitalism, a minimum wage, etc. Those clown would have never come to power.

Unfettered capitalism is just as dangerous as socialism. There needs to be checks and balances on everything. South America is all socialist. Strange how the leaders end up with all the money, right? And you are correct, that is the way America is going - because we are electing socialists. Unfettered capitalism is the only thing that will save us from economic ruin. As soon as you start "fettering" it, as in making minimum wages, you start turning capitalism into socialism. Capitalism may not be perfect, but it is the best system we have so far devised. Capitalism defeated Communism when the Berlin Wall came down and the Cold War ended. Now we are turning that victory into defeat just like we do in all our wars since WW2,History will condemn the fools in this country that cannot accept victory.
