roachman
I went to Cherokee casino playing BJ. I got into a positive high plus count near the end of the shoe so I bet two $300 hands and got a 19 and 20 vs dealer 6. So I proceeded to split 10s and catch an Ace on first 10 and started to double it and dealer said I could not double because it was a 21. I told him it was not a natural Bj that I can double any 2 cards after splitting and its written on the display with table min and max. Dumb ass pit boss bitch said I could not double because it was a 21, I showed her the written rules and she finally said I could do it but its frown upon WTF I hate casino that sweat their money and Cherokee is most profitable casino in the USA. plommer
why the hell would you split 10's and then try to double down on another made hand? 20's and 21's were good hands back when I played blackjack. Times have changed.
fwd
Had a situation playing pai gow. My hand was played "houseway", dealer sets up the hand and I lose. I tell him that the hand is not setup correctly. After some back and forth I request for a floor manager. He also agrees that the hand was setup correctly. After some more back and forth they are firm on their call. Next morning to my surprise, they call me and tell me that I was correct and that the hand was played wrong. Couple thousand dollar swing. Has anybody ever heard of a situation where the casinos make an effort to correct an issue (there was no formal dispute).
IAG
Just curious. What card were you dealt on the other 10 that was split?
MonkeyF0cker
To maximize profit on a high count, plommer. Probably one of the easier ways to get flagged as a counter though.

Well I was never an expert at blackjack but I do remember learning basic strategy by reading books and those books all agreed that splitting 10's was always a no-no. The logic is sound, you already have a strong hand (20), splitting a strong hand to create a potentially weaker hand while betting more is not correct. There are deviations from basic strategy depending on the count.

richsox24
Unless you are in a BJ tournament where you have to win so many units in a set amount of hands, you should never split 10's. Doesn't matter what the count is.
Texastoughguy
I understand splitting tens on a favorable count. But doubling on 21 seems crazy
roachman
Pro and amateur card counter spilt 10s, double soft 20s vs dealer 5 and 6 when you reach a certain count and dept in the shoe. Sometimes you it will backfire but it you got enough bankroll and do it every time you will max more profit in the long run. Ken Uston got one chapter in his Million dollar Bj book where he splits 10s vs dealer 6 and dealer catches a miracle 5 and makes 21 and the count was plus 30 and he lost 30k. Sam Odom
For you novices ... splitting XX is desirable in certain situations IMO should never do it in a simple 1 level count sys maybe in a 2 level sys only if one is keeping a True Running Count always in a 3 level sys if the count is + enough
BarryRunSome
Hate MORONS that do shit like this at the table. Fuck the whole shoe up for everyone else. That's why when I play, which is rare, I only play BJ at no mid-shoe entry tables by myself Public a bunch of fucking morons. I'm betting $200.00 a hand and some fucking asshole playing for $5.00 stays on 14 to a dealers 10 :lebrick

roachman
It's irrelevant. Actually I got PO after all the BS I didn`t 2x it and won all the hands but lost 2500 for the trip. If I get in same position vs 5 or 6 I am going to do same play every time if the count is right and deep in the deck. You guys saying its idiotic move but you can`t comprehend the concept of card counting. When I went to UNC in 78 I took a lot probability and statistics courses and aced them all. I bought Ken Uston million dollar BJ software for an Atari 800 PC with a hard drive and master the simple count in 1980. I got all of Arnold Synder books and read all I could. Ken Uston is the BJ man like Doyle is to the poker world. If anybody wants his book PM your email I send u PDF link.
