roachman
RM i have never been to Harrahs here in nc and i have talk about it for some time driving up for the day ect, is it worth the trip, thanksCk I rank Cherokee above most casinos, it has nice high end restaurants, heard the poker action is soft if that your thing, I go on day trips on Sunday and it take me 2.5 hours. Cherokee have stepped up their game because when I first went when they started live table games, I gambled 10 hours and got comped $5, now I get comped to Ruth Chris, Brio or buffet. I hate going on weekend or holidays because its very hard to get a room. If you drink they don`t comp alcohol because of some crazy law, think a beer $6 and hard liquor $10. You should check it out it on par with most Vegas casino.
RealSlimShady
Had a situation playing pai gow. My hand was played "houseway", dealer sets up the hand and I lose. I tell him that the hand is not setup correctly. After some back and forth I request for a floor manager. He also agrees that the hand was setup correctly. After some more back and forth they are firm on their call. Next morning to my surprise, they call me and tell me that I was correct and that the hand was played wrong. Couple thousand dollar swing. Has anybody ever heard of a situation where the casinos make an effort to correct an issue (there was no formal dispute). What was the hand what was set up wrong?"Houseway" is different for different casinos.
Tomorrow's Newspaper
funny how many "experts" chime in and have no idea. Guys could open their minds they could learn a thing or two but they are all experts. My brother and brother in law were at MIT during the big time. They both learned the systems although they weren't part of the team. First time I saw him hit a soft 21 I went nuts.He explained the math and it made sense. But he only has a PHD from MIT so he isn't quite as smart as the Deemers and Milkmen in this thread. best Vegas story was when I went with them and we were going to count and make some easy money. First time the count got in our favor we upped our bets. The dealer actually said the count was "X" and we should have actually bet more. They were on to us in 5 minutes. Every time the count got good, they would just shuffle. Had to try 2 or 3 casinos before we found one that was a little slow, but they eventually kicked us out too. By the way, he said in his first post his bet was $300, he also said when the count gets real good he bets 20-30 times his normal bet...that makes him a $10 player...a high roller for sure! It the long haul just like you not going to win every game. I did win the last 2 trips BTW.
