Las Vegas (KSNV News3LV) — Police are responding to an active barricade situation that started around 2:15 Monday morning.

Police say a man called to report that his adult son was threatening his family with a samurai sword.

Police say there were several people inside the home, BUT everyone made it out besides the man making threats and a 98-year-old woman, believed to be a relative. Officers are negotiating with the man in an attempt to to get him to come out

Should these weapons be outlawed??

Isn't there already a law against just about everything?

We elect 100 Senators and 435 Congressmen who only consider their term "successful" if a lot of laws are passed.  They have been passing laws for 250 years now while seldom taking any off the books.  Another regulation gets enacted by the second.

It is virtually impossible for YOU to get up in the morning and then go to bed at night without breaking a few of them.  Our congress has made each and every one of us criminals in a very misguided attempt to "protect" us.

We are so overprotected, that we have begun to make laws against what we already have laws against.  It is difficult for our congressmen to have "successful" terms without doing this, I guess.  Hate crimes, for instance, are already crimes - but our politicians like to be politically correct and make a showing in front of the masses.

This situation is almost NEXT DOOR to RMI

He's hearing most all the sounds of the situation.

Yup, hearing police over loudspeaker ALL morning.  Heard what sounded like 2 grenades go off about 15 min ago.  I hope this guy gives up.  Sound like police saying " Chris come out with your hands up"  over and over again...
