"The general rule is that the possessive of a singular noun is formed by adding an apostrophe and s, whether the singular noun ends in s or not."

So Yanks's should be correct. Funny thing I can never remember the rule on possessives ending in s, so I initially also typed yanks' and that didn't look right so decided to just delete his name altogether from my post.

His username is Yanks, not Yank. It's also a proper noun and not a common noun. Yanks' is correct. Not sure why you would think Yank's is correct- that's completely wrong.

Because it's a singular noun and not a plural. I said Yanks's not Yank's...I see ...I corrected before your post. I'm not sure what's going on. Half the time it's double posting and some of the time it doesn't let me quote.

Yanks is a proper noun, and not a common noun.  Newspapers would use Yanks', not Yanks's, and certainly not Yank's.   I'm going with them.

I agree on not Yank's. I mistyped that and corrected. I don't know if there is an exception for proper nouns. I would have to go look. The examples i see have the s's on proper singular nouns. I,e, Chris's auto body. but they are not taken from newspapers. I will have to do some research.

Yes I'm sure. See post 18....which was my last ruling.
