Not many teams with cap room. Rebuilding teams like Atlanta and Chicago weren’t going to pay him. Lakers were his only option until they decided they’d rather pay a bunch of bums who can’t shoot

Balco
It’s all a plan. KD is going to the Lakers next year.
Machiavelli
Yeah, this was just stupid. I get ring chasing when you're a washed up vet but there's not even an excuse there like KD had where he could go there for big money. Would've been interesting to see him take that from Boston or LA if he was gonna take that route. Oh well....GS will win 75 games next year and go 16-0 in the playoffs. Bump City
Do people just not understand that boogie is out for much of the year and a big mans full recovery from an Achilles tear is almost non existent in nba history? People acting like GS just signed a fully healthy boogie. A lot of hysteria over a guy who easily could get hurt again after missing half the season... and is no guarantee to be good even if he does "recover" enough to play 30ish minutes a night come season end. It would be like the Patriots signing Von Miller, Leveon, and Julio Jones

Think it has more to do with who he signed with and the current state of the NBA. Rather than his health. But yeah. If I was to guess, I'd say he never fully bounces back from that injury. Banger
I think the NBA should implement a hard cap at say 100 million and let anyone sign for any team. Players should be allowed to sign for 5 million to go to a good team. To lot of those players already have endorsements and don't need to be greedy. Accept the fact players would rather win and make less on their contracts.
Hangover
He could actually be the reason they lose in playoffs if he comes back and refuses to see he is no longer the same player... Selfish play for next contract, no chemistry, techs galore, and in-fighting may ensue...Boogie the dynasty destroyer
