Yup, Fishy is one of my all time fav-o-rite posters.

...when he croaks, we've got to stuff him, and stick $$ in his mouth as a shrine to the old school Vegas boyz

Ok, I figured checking out a new hotel would be interesting. I guess staying during the first week is probably a bad call given they will be working out the kinks still.

When I called them they also said the pools/cubs wouldn't be open till Labor Day.

Really cool video, great job. I have never been there before, it seems great! Seating, big screens right there. That the thing I hate about LVH is the screens are so far away and the games I have action on are usually not marquee match-ups so they're on the smallest screens. That's why I liked Bill's, decent amount of big screens 15 feet in front you. :bayan:

I love walking past all the suckers playing slots as I head to the sportsbook.

About the vids: Tropicana is a useful street for sports bettors. Coast (at Orleans), Stations (at WWW), MGM (at Excal--bit easier in and out than at MGM itself), Cantor (at the Trop) and WH (at Hooters) is a fairly easy drive.

Other main circuit of mine is to be playing at the V (Cantor), then walking (driving this route isn't going to save you time or, even, walking) to the Wynn, TI, Caesar's (at Harrah's) and MGM (at the Mirage). I can get to these places without giving up my seat in a poker game. I can do that and run over to the LVH, too, but that's pushing it.

I'm only half local to Vegas, The real betgrinders in town have their routes and even parking spots well thought out. I well remember driving a local betgrinder around once and I thought I knew exactly how to get where we were going. He said something like, "No, turn here, then .. here," and I said, "That saves you, what, 30 seconds maybe?" and he said, "Yep."

They care about such things, and they're right to care.

Now this is great info. Any other "paperboy" routes that are good?

This is turning into a super thread and a great site. Sleepy is on drugs....again.

Stay at the Trump, no noisy casino shit on the ground floor to drive you crazy, best view of the strip from the top floors looking south, that's where I'll be.

Dutch---Pokerjoe listed two "routes" that are both excellent and have used both on many' date=' many occasions.........in fact those are the top two on the strip IMO. Downtown offers 4 outs within 5 minutes for the fleet of foot.....William Hill, Nugget, Coasts(Fremont/Cal), and Stations(Cortez).[/quote']

Great stuff Fishy, I owe you (and Pokerjoe) lunch for this, when would you like to collect?

I loved Bills. Was my go to spot to sit and watch games. Ticket writers were all cool and very liberal with the drink tickets. The bar was right there by the book whenever you got thirsty.

No sportsbook in the new Cromwell now. Dumb.

Joey' date=' would NOT even consider staying at the Wild West, look for something else.[/quote']

Stay there? People STAY there? Non-hooker people?

I used to stay at the Orleans a lot, or South Point, but never WWW. But I drive a car, not an 18-wheeler.

BTW, my last hotel bill at South Point was $2700 (17 days, including a few convention weekends), so last month I finally got an apartment up here (after more than a decade of almost commuting up from Carlsbad). Apartments here are freaking cheap as hell. Even if I don't use it much (I was only here 7 days of the last 30), it's still cheaper than a hotel. And now I have a kitchen, I have my stuff waiting for me, I don't have to pack so much as a toothbrush. I'm almost a local!
