Lol I'm almost positive we did this thread before.

Lived a typical upper middle class lifestyle.  Dad was a tax attorney mom a stay home mom.  Went to university of Colorado because I wanted to spend 4 years drinking and getting high.  Was there for 6.5 years.  Bummed (backpacked) my way around central america for the next 2.  Came home and got a shitty job selling mortgages.

Friend told me about this guy Dr Bob that was killing it in college football.  I'd never bet on sports before only at casinos.  Deposited $500 on a credit card at pinnacle (this was 2005) bob hit like 65% across football and basketball that year and I made like 25k the next year and half betting his plays only.   Since that was about what I made working in 18 months I said fuck this quit and moved to Medellin with about 40k figuring it would last me a few years and could make infinite following bob (pinnacle had ridiculous limits on this shit back then like 10x what they take now).  Bob hit about 48% that year and I lost half of it in 2.5 months. So I started learning everything I could find online about betting and started bonus-whoring, betting basic strategy teasers, props, off market lines at sia.  Made like 100k doing that in 2-3 years.  Then I knocked up Mrs Rito, and my expenses when up a fuck ton.

So started betting steam everywhere, using gnomes, more props everywhere and learned how to program.  Made at least what I was spending but not much.  Moved back to the USA (another dumb move) a few years later.  Blew threw 200k in about 8minutes and almost ended up broke.   Started originating/modeling my own shit and after some lean years finally got it together again a few years ago.

When did it hit you that the game was yours for the taking

Hasn't yet.  Every time I figure something out (pros, teasers, now CBB) it ends up disappearing, getting sharper, or limits zero.   Every year feels like the end, but then I figure something else out and we move on.

Yeah we talked about this before but really I wanted to know about the early years......when you were 10,11,12 what the hell were you in to? 13,14,15....had to start planning further, right? 16,17,18? When did it hit you that work was for suckers and gamblers were suckers and you could beat the game...

Sports were favorite thing growing.  Football, Baseball.  Went skiing a lot. Hated school.

Didn't really happen like you wanted it to ted, ended up gambling probably because I literally couldn't find a decent job with and Economics degree from University of Colorado (worthless school and degree).  Was never really a -ev sports gambler (definitely lost a bunch of money at casinos though from 18-25).  Was never a moment that I suddenly thought I could beat it.  I know it can be beat at every level, some are just beyond my grasp.    Been way too conservative the whole time too (know guys that have made 20x as much).

When I hear Jocko he talks about playing Marines when he was a kid, and then he became a Navy Seal.....thought maybe Rito would have a story of at 6yrs old being better at math then his 3rd grade teacher

I was good at math in school, it was my best subject.  But I literally suck at it now.  Like if I could have access to my 16year old brain I'd make more money.  I was always a gambler though, craps in the back of the bus in middle school, vegas with fake id by 18.

yep, you just have to adapt.  When I was whoring with multis we had to stay 3 steps ahead of the changes in T&Cs in order to stay successful.  It's a cat and mouse game.  Great story not far off from my own.

Rito, do you ever think you’ll have a regular 9-5 job again or is there Zero doubt you’ll be a pro until you die?

Would be funny if you ended up stacking boxes at the local piggly wiggly along side some local yolko and trying to explain to him how you used to move millions of dollars a week and have the dude just stare right thru you without a clue...

I don't think I'm capable of working in an office.  But I definitely don't have anywhere near enough money to retire and the sports betting market gets shittier every year.   I could get some shitty programming job probably making 5k a month, but I'd honestly rather stack boxes.    I'm pretty motivated right now to get after and grind the next few years so hopefully won't be an issue.
