mikeman
Trump said he knows South Korea better than anybody, then said Seoul has a population of 38 million Looks like the city itself is about 10 million, the metro area is about 25 million. Half of south korea's population.

sleepy
18 tons of medical supplies have been shipped outside this country. Why is that???Because of our brain dead president that thought we had 15 cases and soon to be zero.
Boatboatboat
NY new cases flattening already? Two days of declines in a row. obviously NY had to flatten the curve asap as it was at critical mass. But it does seem we may have slowed down to quicky in much of the country, unnecessary dragging this out

mikeman
But if an error is made i rather it be an overreactionThe longer this goes on the more obvious this is a massive overreaction, I would rather not head to 30% unemployment...for nothing, it's a choice, a very dumb choice. Up here we now have 10 deaths, but 8 are in nursing homes, most of them were prob going to die in the next year or so anyway, or the next time they catch a cold or flu. By the way, I see they are now considering asking everyone to wear masks when they leave the house, that's a little late huh? So the same people that we supposedly trust now, got something as simple as that horribly wrong?

rito
Estimates are half in NY CITY will get virusAt 1.5% death rate, how many deaths is that in NY CITY alone?? Rofl. If half the city is getting it, then they already have it. Thus the actual death rate is a tiny fraction of 1%. If you talking about offical cases, then 1.5% might be reasonable, but then we are probably talking about under 250k
mikeman
Estimates are half in NY CITY will get virusAt 1.5% death rate, how many deaths is that in NY CITY alone??Those estimates are over the next 2 or 3 cycles, not this one, also it's possible 10% or more have already had it in NY, they're closer to the end infection wise than the beginning(deaths lag by a couple weeks). Boatboatboat
I would like to see some articles studies regarding if medical treatments are saving lives or primarily providing comfort to those who will ultimately pass away
rito
There are people recovering and leaving hospitals so obviously they do something, but sounds like most deaths in Italy were people that were probably going to die this year anyway. mikeman
In MN we will still not test anyone who's not in the hospital, that's gonna change soon and then we'll all go "whoa, it's accelerating", no it isnt.
