But they may not have a choice just like the Rs had no choice with Trump. The Rs would love to dump Trump. They have been overthrown. The only way Bernie wins is if he overthrows the party. theguesser Posted January 29, 2019 Report Share Posted January 29, 2019 Bernie has little shot because he's way, way too old, and this year there are multiple candidates that fill Bernie's progressive slot and are much more attractive candidates(Lizzie, Tulsi, Sherrod Brown if he gets in), and those that aren't long term progressives and/or Bernie 2016 supporters will embrace that wing, as already is. I hate to be an ageist, but someone as old as Bernie, or Biden, should not be running for POTUS. We have a minimum age of 35, perhaps we should have a maximum age of 75 or so. Bernie's time and energy would be better spent getting behind one of the other candidates early. Unfortunately, like many others, his ego will cause him to run. I agree with you about the 1%. But that has a lot more to do with corruption than taxation. BAUSFrom Republicans Eisenhower to Nixon a 70% tax was endorsed. America was built because of this tax. Then Reagan slashed this tax in half. The rest is history. The Billionaires are taking all the money in America. The gap in wealth between the rich and the rest has never been greater.
