Instead he agreed to do it – twice. Why twice? He could’ve just done a no call/no show the first time and been done with it. Maybe he has to show his parole officer that he’s making an attempt to find work, or show something in order to continue receiving unemployment benefits. I really wasn’t interested in a big debate about the pros and cons of a social safety net, I’m just baffled by that kind of behavior. In the end I saved money, and the furniture mission people helped me bring the other items upstairs, but I just can’t even imagine doing that to someone.It does not surprise me at all. He might have gotten a better offer. He feels no sense of obligation because he is just doing manual labor. He has nothing invested in it. These are the worst you can find. His primary interest was that of helping the Cuban people which he did by providing govt services. The reason Cubans are poor is because of the United States and its sanctions. Castro performed miracles compared to what you will find in South America which is run by the US. The US waged economic warfare on Cuba for more than 50 years and barely made a dent in the regime because he took care of Cubans. The other option was another Batista.who has told you they are well fed...…..they are provided 1 chicken/month...…..people are starving..... The amount most likely being somewhere between 10 to 20 million. I heard the top 1% richest Americans own more wealth than the bottom 90%. Think about that. 70% is a good starting point. I've seen guys from Somalia that wished they could go back to Somalia. They said they were happier there but have to work in the US. The question is are the Cubans better off with their present system or the system that would be imposed by the US. 99% of Cubans are literate. They live as long as Americans. They are well fed. All of these things would change if the US took over. Cuba would be turned into Honduras or Bolivia. The question is do they want to be Cuba or Gautemala. Not Cuba or the US.
