No developer creates unrealistic expectations. They are not pinning themselves to a deadline in case they run into unforeseen issues - which happens OFTEN in development. And they will test it in a smaller environment before rolling it out nationwide like any good developer would. If it doesn't do what it was intended to do or has other issues, then they won't be able to roll it out nationwide immediately. They'll either have to create new versions or scrap the idea. Pretty fucking simple. Pence clearly stated that they would be able to announce timing for the site’s availability on Sunday. That implies that the site is NOT ready yet. People will be looking for a site that tells them where to get tested; unless they live in a handful of zip codes, it will be useless to them for the foreseeable future. That Trump said untrue things about a focal point of his plan also does not engender confidence in the rest of the measures. The US needs reliable, wide-scale testing, now.
