Dirt marathons, dirt sprints, turf sprints, two year olds.....none of which are his strong suit. This one looks more his speed. Turf router, dropping into a maiden Claimer after a good debut race at 43-1. An old track regular once told me that you want shippers dropping a notch when they come to Saratoga, because the desire to win here is so strong, everyone is running a level lower in order to get their owners the prestige of a Spa Winners Circle photo. Guy was probably dead broke, but his reasoning made sense to me. Race 3$10 win #4 Perro Rojo 15-1$1 ex ALL/4Mentioned yesterday how a few Zito horses have run second at big prices, gonna try it again. Zito was running this one in some high class races last year, ran a clunker going long on turf last out here, now drops into a dirt sprint Claimer. Turf isn't Zito's strong suit, so I'm willing to toss that race, especially with the class drop and surface switch today. He doesn't get the good stock anymore, so the drop is probably the only way he's winning up here. Race 4$20 win #7 C Islandsurprise 6-1Not sure this one runs if it stays on turf, since its recent successes have been on dirt. But I'm not smart enough to figure out Scherer, so getting on board turf or dirt. Guy is a trickster. Saez staying on is good, as they've had a lot of wins together the last few years. Race 7$40 win #1 Swayed 6-1$2 ex 1/ALLEvery time I start second guessing Weaver, he pops a $25 horse. Guy is impressive up here. Race 10$20 win #3 Cool Beans 8-1Cox is having a career year, had a fantastic Belmont meet, so it's not surprising that he's struggling here.
