Is there a bigger pile of shit than this mask nazi Gimenez?

closing all beaches for 4th of July weekend

but rioting, looting, burning flags is perfectly fine

FINALLY, some common sense in Florida.  By an R mayor.  Progress and hope:

"As we continue to see more COVID-19 positive test results among young adults and rising hospitalizations, I have decided that the only prudent thing to do to tamp down this recent uptick is to crack down on recreational activities that put our overall community at higher risk.

Again, everyone should wear masks inside public establishments and outside if they cannot practice social distancing of at least 6 feet.

I have been seeing too many businesses and people ignoring these lifesaving rules. If people are not going to be responsible and protect themselves and others from this pandemic, then the government is forced to step in and restore common sense to save lives."

The problem with what he's doing is that what's happening in southern fl is a good thing, young people contracting the virus is good, not bad, get it over with quick. None of them will die. Few of them will even get sick.

As i understand it from early on the goal was to allow a controlled number of people to be exposed and get the virus.

Controlled meaning enough to hasten the over all duration of covid shutdown yet not overwhelm any areas health care system.

Outside of the New York situation which due to high population density and nessaceray use of mass transit I think the country by and large has balanced things quite well.

In regards to New York i wouldnt even call thier response a failure, they simply have insurmountable obstacles other areas don't have.

Reminds me of ultra light line fishing for sport.

Light tension, reel. Light tension, reel. Over and over until there is no more fight left or in this case no more (figuratively) people who havent been exposed.

I do wish we had some clarity regarding if this will be a every year situation or if people will become immune and the virus wont morp into a new strain.

I do know once a vaccine is developed I will certainly take it as i have other vaccines for small pox, shingles, mumps, measles.

They don't get it, they treat it as a death sentence when as of now it is more like the common cold. Protect the elderly social distance when possible and that would do it, shutting shit down and postponing the inevitable is retarded but what do you expect from politicians. Complete idiocy.

Sheer paranoia over cases while deaths are dropping steadily, it makes no sense. Panic over young people getting a virus that everyone admits wont get them sick, it makes no sense.

2 months ago it was oh no, the old are getting it, now they're worried that young people are catching it. I guess when the media whips up fear over everything, people go crazy?

Did you guys hear there's a dust cloud coming...oh no! :lol

Yesterday the local news talked with a local epidemiologist about Mn trends - all of ours are getting better, cases are down(% positive), ICU patients are down, hospitallzations are down, what did she say? She said she's very worried, that she's seeing "hints" of disturbing trends, she made it up, when things are going great she peddled fear, her and "their" goal is to keep people afraid.

South Florida Young people are invariably going to be in contact with plenty of old people.  This is a Public Safety and common sense issue.  The Idiots calling it an issue of freedom, are frauds.  I don't see then complaining that they can't go 180 in a 25 MPH zone.  Mask are as common sense as speed limits, and other safety and health issues,  for the common good.

They worked better than not wearing masks.  Just like they do with the 2020 Pandemic.  If everyone was smart enough to mask up, in mask up situations, this thing would less devastating than it's been, and would be over and done with quicker than it will be.  And for all the herd immunity folks, I've heard plenty of instances of people getting this more than once.  So we don't really know that herd immunity will be real.  Bottom line, follow what the consensus medical experts say, do what smart, safe and common sense dictates you should do, and you'll help society as a whole.  Or be a selfish prick, show what a MAGAT you are, in service to your Cult leader, and the disease is worse than it otherwise will be, and last longer than it otherwise will.

My hope is that ever single CFB player can get it before August then we can proceed with a normal season.

If we knew people didnt get it a 2nd time. I would consider allowing those who want to contract the virus go into quarantine to be allowed to do so.

Unfortunately they can and do.

WWE announcer Kayla Braxton says she had coronavirus twice

June 25, 2020 | 11:09am

Another WWE announcer has revealed she has coronavirus — and that she’s now gotten it twice.

After Renee Young revealed she had COVID-19, Kayla Braxton, a reporter on “SmackDown,” shared her diagnosis Thursday morning.

“Was keeping it quiet but since everyone else is sharing, I feel like it is my responsibility to share this PSA: YOU CAN GET COVID-19 MORE THAN ONCE!” Braxton wrote on Twitter. “I had it back in early March and then thought I was invincible after I recovered. Not true. Dont be dumb like me.”

Former wrestler and current WWE backstage producer Adam Pearce also tweeted he had coronavirus.

Young shared her diagnosis Wednesday night after reports earlier in the day said multiple WWE personnel tested positive, including in-ring talent. Young’s husband Jon Moxley — who used to perform as Dean Ambrose in WWE and is now with rival AEW — was pulled from AEW’s television show Wednesday as a precaution.

WWE said in a statement Wednesday it would continue to test “its talent, production crew and employees in advance of TV productions for the foreseeable future.”

Clemson team is almost 30% done, might as well go for another 30%.  I'm guessing the rest probably immune anyway.

Went to the Indian casino to make a donation last night.

Signs all over outside saying masks required. When I went in they had me stand on a square and took my temperature with a computer across the room, once cleared they directed me to a table with masks and gloves. I shoved a mask into my pocket and went about my business. At no time did they enforce any of their rules. I would have left if they said something to me about it. Maybe 20% of the people inside wore masks.

I never took the mask out of my pocket until I left, then I threw it in the trash.
