I haven’t seen odds at any of my books WHY ARE U.S. ODDSMAKERS ABOVE BOOKING LIV TOUR ACTION? February 22, 2023, 1:14 pm updated February 24, 2023, 8:12 am Bookies being holier-than-thou is cute. Sportsbooks aren’t accepting action for the 2023 LIV Tour season-opener — Mayakoba — at the El Camaleón Golf Course in Mexico. When it comes to sports betting, morals don’t exist. If they did, then why did legal sportsbooks take action on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar? Literally, hundreds of people died to put on the World Cup. At first, I was confused why oddsmakers weren’t listing odds for the LIV Tour. Sportsbooks not accepting bets for legitimate sports breaks my brain. But, after pondering it more, the explanation became clear … Is the PGA Tour squeezing LIV Tour out of legal sportsbooks? Oddsmakers want to integrate with professional sports leagues. The best way to do that is by embedding into American culture and being entrenched into the coverage of sporting events. This is just a guess on my part but the PGA Tour probably told sportsbooks it wouldn’t work with them if they took LIV Tour bets. It’s a shrewd business move yet what’s the other explanation? For the record, I hate the LIV Tour. I hate what it did to the PGA Tour and the Saudi Public Investment Fund is pretty much blood money. However, I like winning bets way more than I hate the LIV Tour. The hardest thing about betting the LIV Tour is the lack of actionable data. There isn’t shotlink data on the LIV Tour tourneys and there is no information for most of its host courses. It’s a different story for this Mayakoba event. I cashed on a Russell Henley 45-1 bet to win the PGA Tour’s 2022 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba and I know this course well. I saw dollar signs when noticing the LIV Tour’s 1st 2023 event was at Mayakoba. That’s how I’m conditioned to think as a sports bettor and that’s what sportsbooks want. Mayakoba Best Bets Native Mexican Carlos Ortiz (+3300) is my 1st look to win at Mayakoba. Ortiz is 265th in the Official World Golf Rankings but 177th on Data Golf’s model. Ortiz finished 4th at the LIV Tour’s Bedminster event and 2nd in Portland. He finished 2nd at last year’s Mayakoba event on the PGA Tour, T8 in 2021 and T2 in 2020. My other Mayakoba bet is Mito Pereira (+2000) who just joined the LIV Tour. Pereira is one of the best ball strikers in the world. He still leads the PGA in average Strokes Gained on Approach shots this season. Unfortunately, illegal bookies and off-shore shops are the only oddsmakers accepting LIV Tour action. Fortunately for me, I know a guy who accepts bets on the LIV Tour 😉. Hopefully you do too.
Bigrunner
LIV Golf From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia LIV Golf (/lɪv/) is a professional golf tour financed by the Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia. The name "LIV" refers to the Roman numerals for 54, the score if every hole on a par-72 course were birdied and the number of holes to be played at LIV events.[1] The first LIV Golf Invitational Series event started on 9 June 2022, at the Centurion Club near London, England. The Invitational Series became the LIV Golf League in 2023. Journalists and commentators have said the tour is part of efforts by the Saudi monarchy, which has been criticized for its corruption and human rights abuses, to improve its public image through sports.[2][

Enough said or else Double Standard Hoffa won't be able to handle the truth and delete immediately. Again the PGA tour takes money every year from multiple sponsors that do 40 billion each year in business with the Saudis. The PGA Tour has no problem with that. They just hogged all the money. LIV they get paid direct but both sides are taking Saudi Money.

"Let's support the Saudi Government because PGA sponsors do business with Saudi businesses". Gmcarroll33 It's the exact same shit OneFooter. If the PGA Tour said no sponsors will be allowed to host a tournament if they do dealings with the Saudis then they would have a leg to stand on. Instead it's hypocrisy at it's finest. Funny how they suddenly found a way to come up with a few 20 million dollar purses out of nowhere as soon as LIV started up and players left. They still trail big time overall. Anyways I don't have time to argue with your nutjob crazy ass. It's on and I've got a few golfers to win. Time to go watch.
Gmcarroll33
LIV currently the 4th most downloaded sports app in the world right now per the broadcast. Gmcarroll33
This isn’t trash at all like some are claiming. With all the money put into this you had to figure they were going to make sure to get it right from the get go. It feels like watching a Golf Channel broadcast that plays every weekend before it goes to CBS. Greg Norman just said he wanted to make it player friendly where everybody has the same start time so that nobody gets an unfair break of a tee time with bad weather. Great idea to at least try out. For year 2 and only year 1 of a real broadcast this is way better than something that’s a total joke like XFL or USFL. I’ll have to see how it is tomorrow on CW. Having no commercial breaks, and no channel theme like CBS and NBC doesn’t seem the same. Greg Norman said getting players and on tv was priority one. Up next they need sponsors so that will fix the no name association of any tournaments.

They’re gonna have to figure this hurdle out. I’m watching on the app though. I get what they’re trying to do. Even the leaderboard updater on the side is tell tell. Between the team atmosphere, the global tournaments, the money, and the way they’re broadcasting it non-stop with very little commercials looks, it seems that this is their attempt to create a F1 vs Nascar of golf. PGA being more Nascar primarily focused on the US fan base while LIV focuses globally on what they think the same people that F1 might love about golf. I’ll probably watch the PGA Tour most weeks just bc it’s what I’m used to and flip over to LIV when I find their tournament or bets I’ve got interesting enough. There’s nothing wrong with watching either. It’s just more golf.

Thomas Pieters got the call to join LIV Golf only last week and jumped at the opportunity MAYAKOBA, Mexico — DP World Tour star Thomas Pieters revealed on Wednesday that he wanted to join LIV Golf since its debut last summer and that he’ll accept whatever repercussions the move has on his European Ryder Cup hopes. The Belgian native and World No. 35 was announced as one of the latest signees for LIV earlier this week, becoming the fourth member of Bubba Watson’s Range Goats team along with Americans Talor Gooch and Harold Varner III. The Saudi-backed league kicks off its second season on Friday at the Mayakoba Resort in Mexico’s Playa del Carmen area, competing on the El Camaleon course designed by LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman that formerly hosted a PGA Tour event in the fall series. A six-time winner on the DP World Tour, Pieters said he aspired to play for LIV last summer, when the circuit began its eight-tournament inaugural series. The league launched with several major champions on board including Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, Charl Schwartzerl and Martin Kaymer. As the summer continued, LIV added Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed and reigning Open champion Cameron Smith. As a professional you have to take opportunities when they arise. It has been a whirlwind since then, really, sorting everything out and getting everything ready over the weekend.”
